Avacal Biological
Corrina King
Aquatic Biologist
Corrina is the lead Aquatic Biologist/ Phycologist for Avacal Biological. Her background is focused in designing and implementing algal collection and analysis projects, including the utilization of forms of algae to determine upland impacts to water quality, in addition to project scoping, grant writing, project management and education and outreach. She holds degrees from Skidmore College and SUNY Cobleskill in Limnology and Environmental Studies. Her research has focused on creating and confirming metrics to determine ecosystem health. She wrote the guide to Algae within the Lake George Watershed and has spent nearly a decade studying the algae within Lake George NY and nearby waterways.
Current research includes utilizing algal bio-monitoring to determine faulty or under-functioning septic systems within littoral zones of oligotrophic waters. Article writing; writing for regional publications, making the science easy to understand for various demographics. Lake consulting; analyzing data and creating a user friendly database.
Corrina got married in 2022 and changed her last name to King.
